Explode

Explode

The thick of the moment happens
so damn quickly and I’m left with
my heart in my mouth and a
     bouquet of nothing & roses
I pour myself another coffee -
I am rich in sound & scent
          invisible wealth,
must, I rest
      aligning my spine, each
fractal of self glittering
my cohesive fabric,
      slipping snakelike over liquid limbs
slowly drawing ovals of light/space into being
silk could not catch
                                onto my scaly skin
tell me as often as you'd like the truth
sweet blooms soaking in vinegar
          against blood and grain coming
rake violently some layered mask
          heavy as wet leaves    filling
          the pressure within my sinuses
something had better explode one of these days
whether it's my eardrum
                   your perception of reality
                   a meteor splashing into
the magma sea on the surface of the sun
                  an egg in the microwave
